Multi-story.org / Street Level Photoworks, Glasgow The photographs, personal stories, songs and video on this site have been made with asylum seekers living in North Glasgow. Introductions to digital recording, digital video, photography, web design and digital imaging were run in the community resource at the YMCA building, which houses around 240 people over it’s 31 floors
www.multi-story.org features cookery videos of traditional recipes from China, Eritrea and Zimbabwe and traditional songs from Lithuania, Mongolia and Somalia, alongside photography taken around Glasgow. Narratives also offer an inside perspective on life as an asylum seeker. The site can be navigated in 6 different languages – Arabic, English, Farsi, French, Somali and Turkish. It celebrates positive aspects of Glasgow’s growing ethnic communities that are being established through the refugee population.
